This is Marco Antonio Ayala Torres or referred as Mark don. We'll be referring him as Mark throughout this feature. Mark is a photographer, you can check out his work @idontakephotos. From capturing raw moments at the @bummershed along with pictures involving @isaiahflowers99 to outings. This week's feature is Mark, @idontakephotos.
Starting off with a little bit about Mark he shares what he's been enjoying as of recently "Ummm, spending time with my friends, shooting, having a good time.listening to good ass music." What if it was shooting with friends and listening to music together? Sounds like a fun time for sure. He goes on to mentioning some of his favorite locals "Aye i'm finna go crazy right now, shoutout Isaiah Flowers and the whole team <3. Much love Joseph Stingley, Sycamore is up next for sure ! Jason, Jimmy, Peter & everyone involved in the valley. Last but not least, my most talented best friend Alan Miranda has all sorts of components. I love him. Also buy aguas frescas from Yusma's Neveria." For sure I"ll check out Yusma's even though it feels like I have driven by it before. Much love to everyone mentioned along with everyone in The Valley!
When it comes taking a picture personally there's a lot to consider from the angle to the lighting and so much more, but what does Mark consider when he's behind the camera? "Visions are constantly changing so I don't really have a deadline but I'm trying to capture as many people as I can. Also wanna tour with bakar." I like that "trying to capture as many people as I can" and where they are at possibly like the background/location. To look back on it because it just looks great. I can see there not being a "deadline" when it comes to wanting to capture as many people as possible because no matter where you go you will most certainly have that opportunity.
From the "visions constantly changing" to what he wants to capture what's does Mark have to say behind what HE has an eye for? "We all have a certain perspective in each other's lives so we all like different things, so I guess we have mutual likings." Even though he may be taking photograph or in this case "capturing the moment" and the people involved it does connect with the different perspectives and the different lives captured that are also in the moment. A moment from a captured moment. Which he has an eye for.
As earlier Mark mentioned his friends, the moments, but what kind of pictures does HE enjoy taking? " I enjoy every image I take, I never delete a lot, with time every image is history and also i have almost 25,000 images on my phone, its bad." I struggle to actually enjoy an image I took, but I should start to see for reasons to enjoy it. Oh man 25,000 images! I wonder he plans to upgrade the memory on his phone for future images.
Stating the type of pictures he likes, but what about some of his personal favorites? "These new pictures I've been dropping, me gustan mucho." I look forward to seeing them and keep an out as well @idontakephotos for the new pics!
Is there any particular reason as to what got Mark into photography " Mainly, my best friend Alan MIranda." Without Miranda and Mark we wouldn't be able to see these great moments captured by Mark.
From the moment Mark started with photography to where he is now has he changed with his work or has he continued to work on his current style? " Completely honest, I've never liked standing in one spot. I am always trying to change & put a lot more meaning to every image. So yes, I'm a lot better." It's good that Mark is able to see his progress and with the more time out there who knows what he'll end up doing next or maybe trying something new?
From his posts on @idontakephotos you can see that he has worked with others within the community as he says "Yes I have, all my friends are so talented, I feel like I just started even though I haven't, so I'm willing to work with anyone. Like i said before, I would like to work with A$AP Rocky." Keep putting out your work out there and you never know what's bound to happen! Helping each other/working with other and slowly building more connections.
How does Mark know when a photo is up to his standards? "When I can tell the story behind it. I love loud pictures." If you would like to see more examples of "loud behind" and even those with a "story" check out his Instagram. Even so you can really tell a lot with an image. It can truly be captured.
Mark shares his thoughts on the local scene in The Valley,
"Everyone is so talented, and I mean each single person involved. Wish to meet everyone. we can get along."
Along with one final comment,
"Appreciate anyone around you, take care of each other, don't hold grudges, tell that girl you like her, dye or shave your head if you've been thinking about it, speak for yourself, make everything loud and clear."
