This is Bryan A.K.A W4ston a D.I.Y artist/screen printer who doesn't let himself be stuck on just one medium as he deals with Photoshop, collages, cutting, screen printing, 3D printing, and so much more! If it allows him to experiment then you know he'll be on that as fast as he can. I met W4ston I believe at The Vintage Worm garage pop up where he was screen printing. I was in awe by what I was seeing. The paints the designs the MESS, but that's what it's about y'know. Just one man and his tools of choice. W4ston enjoying what he does for fun as he screen printed on t-shirts/jeans/totes ect. everything is fair game. W4ston screen prints for free which allows him to create and whip out his screens to use. He's being creative and doing what he enjoys what else is there to say behind "doing this for free?" Keep it up W4ston there's growth in screen swipe and in every scan...well you tackle so many mediums you know what I mean!

Bryan, but he will be referred to as W4ston for this features starting us off with his love for memorabilia as he says "man whatever happened to the hot dog eating contests and you win that shirt that says 'I just ate 50 hot dogs' like what happened to that? Memorobilia designs like that is just so cool!" Honestly shirts like that go hard as fuck! Just like the episode from Regular Show when they have to eat the breakfast platter for the trucker hat. I mean without graphic design the trucker hat wouldn't basically exist. W4ston continues by saying "Want to know where the name comes from? That was my gamertag from middle school, but before that my original gamertag was first name last name." First of all I love where the inspo comes from when it comes to the cat stickers especially the cat's with headphone's, but I have a soft spot for usernames that have been in use due to it being people's gamertags. It just sticks. W4ston throws in some shout outs "shout out to you, Ram, all my friends they push me. Shout out Alan, Isaiah, and Freddy he takes some crazy pics! Shout out Eddie and all the homies and even shout out to Shrek. Being around them and in the environment just inspires me, my friends are my biggest inspirations."
When it comes to your screen printing what is it about yourself that you put onto your designs? "I like rough edges and random stuff! Collages! I've always loved collages. I guess that's what I do a lot. It started with comics., I like going to the comic book shop, but for the wrong reason and people would get upset at me because 'you're supposed to read those' like ahhhh I'm sorry, but I just like the art. So I'd just start cutting up and pasting things on top of each other. If I have any crayons I'll use that or If I have markers I'll use that. Last time I needed brown so I went outside got some dirt with a little bit of water. With that being said I love experimenting and TEXTURES. With everything I just love graphic design I started first on digitally and graphic designing in middle school. I'm self-taught from YouTube. Just working on details/textures such as little crevices and making things POP such as highlights. Just loving adding details people won't notice and seeing how it all comes out." It's about attention to detail. I love looking at pieces/works and just looking at it for more what it is on the surface. There's always "minor" details that you can see if you get close enough. I love collages and while I haven't tried my hand on it maybe I will soon! I've been collecting magazines for "the wrong reasons" for the moment that I do.
What would you say your process is behind creating one of your digital artworks/screen prints? I know some may be themed for events, but for personal work you put out there what can be said? "I like to do fun stuff and if something is in my head I'll put it on paper and sometimes it won't necessarily translate in the sense of 'artwork', but it translates to me in the way that I used my what I have. For example the textures and how I felt the paper. In my own head it feels like I'm pouring it all out especially when I have my headphones on listening to music. Once I finish my stuff digitally I'll scan my drawing and go on Photoshop editing it. I'll go through it and be 'oh yeah I did this because this was happening ect' and when I'm doing this it helps me reflect. Now for the fun stuffff weeeeell that's just for fun! That's usually when add in colors and recently I've been into cats! I got a cat about a year ago and dude is super cool. So I'll think like 'what if you were under a tree listening to music just like me' and it's just what I'm doing. It can be inconsistent, but it's fun for me." FUN! I like seeing the process images on how something gets done. Makes me see the layers add up to the final project and especially the colors. Of course we can't forget about the cat imagery, which I also thought about. It's nice to know that the sticker I have is based off of W4ston's cat basically. Y'know as long as W4ston translate his work on his canvas the way he wants while listening to music then that's all he needs to do. In the end he's just doing what's fun for him.
When it comes to "inconstancy" what could this mean in terms of creating artwork?
"Oh I see it as a curse and a blessing! I got into 3D printing and other mediums. Today I'm screen printing tomorrow can be something else. It's all about experimenting and y'know it's just a hobby! I feel like it's all perceived well because it's experimenting and I'm not trying. I'm just putting things out there because I'm having fun." From his digital work, screen printing, sticker making, and ect. W4ston isn't tied down to just something specific as he is using any outlet possible to express himself creatively, by just CREATING he's making progress within his own terms. He just wants to push out what's "fun" and "cool" and if you fuck with it then that's cool too. Ever since I met W4ston and saw him screen print I thought to myself "yo that's cool as fuck." It makes me happy to see W4ston screen printing to be honest because he's doing what he wants which is using his screen prints and paints. Which then he'll use designs from other screen prints like their DETAILS to add on! You can literally see him get that "AH HA" or rather "eureka" moment with what he wants to do creatively while screen printing.
What is it about having fun when creating? "Isaiah Flowers and Alan as examples they are some of my best friends and biggest inspirations! I also want to get better in a sense, learn from what I'm doing. I'm not taking this seriously, because this is my hobby if that makes sense." What is important is that while creating we are creating mostly for ourselves. This is his work as W4ston mentions in the video "It's all for fun man, I do all this for free (when it comes to screen printing) I use it as a creative outlet and I just want to share what I do." W4ston has been putting his stuff out there for 6 months and he's basically mobile screen printing which is cool! Most importantly W4ston says "not everything has to be serious. just try it out you never know! I'm having fun regardless if people like it that's always a plus."
He has a final comment,
If you want to see me screen print I'll be doing it at sauce house! For a benefit show coming up soon!
