"Let's Keep Things Peachy!"

With the art work posted by Peachyqwueenie what you will find is comic panels with the original characters created, Characters such as Sweetheart Valencia, Novak Mellowag, Matthew Greyback, Amore Valencia, and ect. With these characters and situations and experiences these characters experience throughout their comic panels we will see how Peachy came across creating and sharing these moments with us. With the colors, sparkles, distinguishable features with the characters I'd say it's keeping it "peachy" for sure. There is one comic panel that lives rent free in mind, but I'll bring that up later. Overall they are a fun read and especially looking at the individual art posts as well. This week's feature is @peachyqwueenie

We start off with Peachyqwueenie sharing on what they've been enjoying as of recently "I’ve been enjoying the weather changing from hot to cool and the fall coming! It’s my favorite season and it makes me feel alive and inspired! " It's super hot here, but it's kinda toning down a bit. I look forward to a much more cooler weather. They continue by giving out a couple of shout outs as well "I’d love to shout out @sewerdoobles and @jammed_goods, for being amazing besties and of course always supporting my art! also some awesome artists on top of them both are @megavaun and of course @vall3yrat! "

Now we go onto the questions as we begin by asking, Who is peachqweenie and could you describe your artwork/style to us as she says

"Peachyqwueenie is my true artistic side that I really use to post pieces that are super personal to me and really just allow myself to be creative even if working a 7-5 job. I’ve always felt like myself when I am creative so I guess you could say that it’s the real me. I’m not that good at describing my own artwork but if I have to break it down I would say it’s very bright and detailed. I get inspiration from everywhere but really love to look at line work and it’s on of my trademarks. It’s a portal to the world where these characters reside in a violet hue. And a lot of people say it reminds them of Steven universe so I guess there’s that too ."As Peachy mentions "post pieces that are super personal to me" the piece that lives rent free in my head is the one about the haircut. Where the girl is mentioning that they she should have told me to stop cutting and the dude says "you look nice...the haircut I mean" and it just hits. I had a relatable moment with it and maybe someone else has as well, who knows. Although art work/art can be personal to the creator once it's out there as Peachy puts it out to others to see. For example the comic called "Little Details" like he doesn't like tomatoes, but she made it so it's like the best thing ever. I have a friend who put me on vegan foods in college. I thought vegan food was wack, until she introduced me to some options and what was out there. Even to now sharing more with me since then. It's the best thing in the world especially her vegan pig in a blankets. It truly is the "little details", huh? I'd say at her artstyle really brings out this "qwueenie" aspect of their name for sure. The vibrant shiny hues and the colors. The features that call onto our attention. It's very distinct!

What can you tell us about the characters created and shown throughout your comic pages? Is there something personal you add into the experiences these characters face together?

"I can tell you that all these characters created were created with different aspects of my own personality and personal situations. Some situations I can say have shown up in comics are where Sweetheart has a existential crisis in the shower (( I was having a tough time where I felt there was nothing I was doing that mattered), Sweetheart admiring Novak singing (( I admire my hubby doing stuff all the time and he calls me out on it Lol )), and my most recent where Sweetie isn’t welcomed at a party (( I wasn’t really invited to any because I was considered weird as a child. And I only did two parties because nobody really showed up so I didn’t want to do them anymore.))" I was going to ask about if the comics and characters express any personal experiences/self-input which as they mentioned. This certainly makes me want to go back and see the comic pages/posts of Sweetheart and Novak for sure!

On the topic of comic pages, how was it creating and releasing your first comic page to your most recent? How have you seen the comic progress? For those invested in these comic pages, any sneak peaks could you share?

"The first comic page created was way in Middle school (( long gone haha )) in traditional paper with my best friend. I grew from then on because I began to branch out in making character designs and then a story and etc. the comic has progressed so much in the way that it’s slowly developing the story for my followers to read back on as I release snippets of it. As for sneak peeks I do have one I am currently planning to make but no actual physical one to show just yet! I promise it’s coming and I can assure you; the angst is there." I certainly ask because you can certainly swipe far into their account and see the first posts. You can see the changes as they have posted. Which was as mentioned on "traditional paper", but what's cool to know that it wasn't alone. I remember in middle seeing people making comics or characters writings. In highschool a friend and I actually created short comics based on our teachers that we would show to our friends. He would draw them as I helped with ideas/creative choices. It didn't go beyond that, but doing something with a friend is fun. No hard copy release, but hey you get a snippet soon!

On the topic of growth, how have you seen yourself grow with your style/work in general?

"Oh man! My art style has grown so so much! I can see the difference with older works just on my IG and small doodles I find when I throw out older papers. I feel my art style has improved in that now I can draw males alot better and my hands." Now I wonder how those older papers looked like for sure, but we can see their first posts compared to their most recent. There is certainly growth/progress with what they are putting out there. For sure moving away from traditional paper was the game changer, I mean those hues and what add to the details makes it just POP.

Who is sweetheart valencia? Is she the main character? Is there anything about yourself you into her personally along with your other characters created?

Sweetheart Valencia is the main character in the comic. She is an Angel that fell to earth to gain her voice and find her purpose by joining her favorite band “The heartless”. She’s my sensitive side; always feeling out of place (( in this case literally she ain’t human lol )) and I just really use her as a way to express myself when I feel that way. Novak is the embodiment of someone who struggles with depression and is still able to work through life (( I forgot the name of it but it’s basically nobody suspects it just as it had happened to me)). Louis is the confident side of myself when I feel I am doing awesome in life! He is a player (( I’m not trust me lol )) but yet he self sabotages his own happiness due to not feeling he is worth it ((I’ve done this a couple times where I don’t allow myself to rest/ get things I like because I feel I don’t deserve it.)). And Amore and M are my idea of what love should be (( utter devotion )) and a merge of my and my husband! They actually came to play when I fell for him haha . Oof that Louis character just hits hard. As mentioned earlier that even though these are personal they can be relatable or people may be able to find a connection. As mentioned Louis "sabotages his own happiness due to feeling his worth" which is certainly difficult. I mean a lot of things mentioned are difficult. If I had an OC hmmm he'd probably be someone who enjoys romantic comedies which allows him to know how to love, but he wouldn't know how it feels to be loved or rather know when he's being loved or shown it. (I love rom-coms.) Hmmm I wonder if Peachy plans on making another character or if she plans to keep going with what she has? Time will tell for sure.

What got you interested in making these characters and these comic pages?

"Really all the storytelling. I was always a reader since I was young and started with da fiction then it just branched out to me wanting to really just wanting my own personal thing. I always wanted people to see my comic and be able to relate to these characters even if their personalities weren’t fully out there. " I mean if you wanted someone to be able to relate to some comics and characters I'm one of them haha, but if you got me into these characters and even one comic strip that I remember I'm sure others are the same way too! I always wanted to just write and ask people questions. I always had gameinformer magazines since middle school and just reading them was cool. So we're both doing something since were young and let's keep going! I look forward to how Peachy branches out with her creativity/craft.

How do you come up with the character stories, backgrounds, interests and what may come into their future as everything progresses?

"I tend to make them super personal in where I take a certain aspect I have/ am feeling and just need to vent it. If I like it I keep it! Well as the future comes I am hoping to get the full comic out and in order (( I KNOW I KNOW I said that last year!)). And revealing things that you guys would never expect ( Spoiler Louis knew sweetheart from heaven!)"I mean hey art is certainly an express and we are allowed to do so. This is certainly for us and by "us" I mean the artist. BRUH WITH THE SPOILER SNEAK PEAK AHHH! First an upcoming snippet now this! I feel that Peachy shouldn't force or feel like there's an expectation to push/release this full comic. Rather she should focus the energy on having it on how SHE wants. It is her comic and when it's out it is out. At least she gave us a spoiler.

Looking at your work you have collaborated/art traded with artists such as Jammed Goods and Vall3yrat, how did these pieces come to be? Would be interested in working with other artists as well?

"I know it was a mutual thing where we just loved each other’s art and were like HEY! Wanna trade/collab? And it happened! I love to do these things so I would love to do it with anyone who was interested! And them again haha ! I’m just shy so I don’t tend to ask… " Yo if anyone wants to collab with Peachy hit them up! Let's get art trades going! Normalize art trades/art collabs!

I saw that there was also a model painted to look like one of your characters. Do you plan to do this again or create a set? Is this one way of experimenting with your work? How else would you like to experiment creatively?

"I actually would! I would love to remake a new one and even do other characters it’s just all about finding models I feel I can work from. I would love to add embroidery to some paintings I have in mind and etc. I just need to actually do them! Maybe even make some longer animations that have full color!" Oh for sure finding the models would be a bit difficult. Can't imagine going thrift store after thrift store and questions if this particular model would fit this particular character. Hmmmm embroidery that certainly sounds interesting! I'm trying to imagine it for sure. Embroidery on art.

What sort of feedback have you received on your work?

"The feedback would probably be more ideas! I love to share ideas and etc with my friends and I’ve even showed my hubby some sketches and asked what else to add or etc. and it’s helped me decide because if you’ve ever met me I’m so indecisive! That’s why I take a while to post !"Asking a 2nd pair of eyes is good, but maybe consider asking or showing a third pair as well when it comes to sketches! Take in some ideas and experiment with you. You don't know what you just might come up with.

What are your thoughts on the local valley scene?

"IM SO HAPPY! It makes me so so happy to see the art scene growing and flourish especially because I started when it was barely getting recognized and alot of my followers have joined and grown themselves and it makes me so so happy! "

Any final comments?

"Just a huge huge thank you for all the support I have received since I began my account and for all my peaches a huge hug and smooch! it means the world to have you guys continue to show interest and support to my art and comics; and it’s made my inner kid feel accomplished since growing up I never thought anyone would love it! Thank you and as always keep being peachy! "
