All I ever heard from the people that surrounded me was "I want to leave the Valley" to "The Valley has nothing cool in it" and also "There's no good musicians or good talent in the Valley." Being surrounded in that mindset makes you start to believe it, but you soon forget about it and don't even think what lies within the RGV, but your idea on something changes due to the experiences you have. Acquiring my dream job changed that.
As we grow up we believe we want to know what we want to be when we grow up. I mean in my college years I switched from psychology to being a mass communications broadcasting major! I had mixed emotions about television production as the years went on, but RADIO PRODUCTION OH BOY! Now that was the peak and enjoyment of my university years! I was always a volunteer for about 2 years until I was told about a position for Program Director and this was my chance to finally gain some hands on experience besides our classes.
After getting the job I realized it was a lot of communication as the major holds in its title.

Communication which UTRGV TV helped me with. Helped me break out of my shell. The positivity of joining and organization within your field! Anyways, the job required adding music by genre and contacting organizers for ticket giveaways! Of course working with TigersBlood for concerts at Cine El Rey and so much more lead to me meeting and knowing the local talent which the Valley had to offer. Made me realize the things people said of the Valley not having any talent is due to the blind sidedness people have towards artists and upcoming individuals trying to make a name for themselves in which they already have!

After meeting and getting to know local talent in the Valley I began to go out and experience local venues such as Sauce House, thecosmohousetx, and so much more! What really helped me find local events was instagram! Looking up events, artists, musicians to even art galleries! Such as an art gallery hosted by Aficionado which will be a blog later on.
All this to even cantinas in mission tx hosting itself as a place for local artists to express themselves from poetry, comedy, music, to just what was on their mind. This was hosted by a man named Ray who is also a musician, but man who also supports the local scene.
There's something to offer in the valley every weekend and even on the weekdays which i'll be adding on my instagram and on the blog for upcoming events.
Just keep your eye out and give that 3$ show a try! You won't regret it!

If you read this far i'll be doing blog posts on individuals on the valley who have talent because they are all gems which the valley holds. They are all amazing individuals who deserve the growth! From artists, to musicians, and past events I have attended which hopefully make a come back! Much more will be added and enjoy the local music stream as well! Stay tuned!
You got a point there! There are talented people here in the valley. Thank you for giving them attention. I'm looking forward to reading more of your post! Good content! Keep it up!
