The Curated Community Expo

The Curated Community welcomes vintage, sneakers, art, and more within their space. From second hand clothing needing a new home to meeting others with similar interests. Cristian, @cristiansvintage sells premium vintage, but is also dealing with handling expos such as the Curated Community. I remember when I was being introduced to the vintage clothing scene and much there was a fill a big event being hosted by Cristian. It was my first experience with a fill a bag and what was being provided to the community as well with easy access of clothing to take home for a small fee. Seeing his growth a small event to having over 30 vendors is really something! It's the drive and his mission to introduce the community to the numerous around individuals also provided what they can. This weekend feature is on the Curated Community provided by Cristian, @curatedcommunity.tx

We are here today with Cristian Salinas, @cristiansvintage as he explains what got him interested in hosting this expo specifically curated for vendors as he says "I think there are a lot of local creatives who don't have an outlet to push their product along with them wishing to get in touch with others and their customers. I feel like we are changing here in the valley and I wanted to expand on the niche market what we have here in the valley while also making it accessible for others. This was really important to me." I do feel that there is an importance with connectivity between the seller and the customer. Being able to converse even and especially if it's in their similar interests. The amount of people I saw just talking and showing each other the pieces they've found or the vendors showing the people what they might be interested in just by talking. With that people make connections and will continuously come back to you. Creating an outlet for people who want a change to get out there as well is also good for people who host by meeting new individuals to have their events as well besides the community aspect of having numerous of options. From the free admission to what was being provided today I'd say that it was totally accessible.

With hosting an expo with over 30 vendors what does he hope the community gets out of this today as he says "that there as a lot of people who are entrepreneurs and that these people stand by their product. That the community buys local and building up our local business here in the valley. Most importantly that the community puts a face to the local businesses and not just a social media page that there is somebody behind it." The amount of local creative putting their talent to work or setting up a side hustle is growing! Someone will always be there to support and help their growth. I do feel that there is a difference meeting the vendor at one point that just buying through social media. Seeing the set up to how they present their work as well. They truly "stand by their product" as Cristian says.

With what Cristian's mission behind The Curated Community how does he wish to continue growing "From my individual success and my growth ; working with the curated community has been a lot more fulfilling. Seeing the smiles on peoples faces to the connections being made from the customers to sellers. I would like to grow from 30 to 60 vendors one day to having out of state individuals come by one day too!" If Cristian continues who know what he could do. There will certainly be another one coming soon! I'd say to keep your eye out! We certainly grow as we host our events for sure. You see what you keep and change what you don't or improve something as well. From four of work to what he is doing today is progress and it only grows from there. Stay tuned for what the next one may hold.

Cristian shares his thoughts on the local valley scene,

We have grown so much! I remember when I started over four years ago from a small attendance to what we have today is amazing to see. Noticing that people are more aware about second hand clothing and materials. The valley is growing for sure and learning as well!

One final comment,

We appreciate everyone who has stopped by! Even if it was for 5 minutes to supporting! Everything is very much appreciated!
